ABOUT THE BAND

The early 1980s post-punk era spawned an entirely new genre like nothing that had ever been heard before. The birth of 'alternative' music changed popular music forever. The Vurge takes the various forms of music of the era and brings to them a hint of sophistication; something akin to the performances of the legendary Bryan Ferry. The band performs songs from artists like Iggy Pop, The Smithereens, The Psychedelic Furs, Adam Ant, David Bowie, REM, Echo and the Bunnymen, INXS, The Fixx, Roxy Music, The Smiths, New Order, B-Movie, Talk Talk, Soft Cell, The Stray Cats, The Violent Femmes, Billy Idol, The Ramones, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, U2, and more.

Throughout the course of their musical histories, Gary Putman, Victor Mena, Bret Hardy and Ruben Villasenor have won over the hearts of music lovers at venues large and small.

With expert musicianship, three vocalists, and a repertoire to match your favorite '80s Alternative playlist, the group's high-energy performances are earning the admiration and affection of critics and fans alike.
